These announcements are listed each Monday on a space-available basis.


• West Side Democrats will meet on Thursday because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The meeting will take the place of the normal 5:30-7 p.m., fourth Thursday meeting, and will be a combined November/December meeting. The Horry County Democratic Party headquarters is located at 900 4th Ave. in downtown Conway. For information contact the party office at 488-4237.


• The Georgetown County Republican Women’s Club will meet on Monday at the Applewood Pancake House in Litchfield Beach.

The speaker will be Janet Hightower from Sen. Jim Demint’s staff. The meeting is at noon with lunch, Dutch treat.

Applewood Pancake House is located at 14361 Ocean Highway.

• The Inaugral Horry County GOP Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, with shotgun start at 10:30 a.m.

This fundraiser for the Horry County Republican Party is hosted by The Dye Club at Barefoot Resort & Golf, with a four-player, captain’s choice format. The cost is $125 for single golfers and $375 for foursome. Costs include green fees, cart, lunch, beverages, free gift bags, hole-in-one contest, long drive, closest-to-the-pin, beat the pro and others.
