S.C. Highway Patrol reported a fatal one-car crash early Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 701 about 2 miles south of Conway.

Jonathan J. Cox Jr., 21, of Conway died in the crash.

Cox died after losing control of the 2003 Acura he was driving and hitting a ditch at about 1:45 a.m. while heading south on Highway 701, according to Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins. Cox, who was the only occupant, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
