Youth should look to history for guide

November 13, 2012

What are some of the ways we can help our youth become outstanding leaders?

George Washington in his farewell address wrote that of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality cannot be separated; reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.

May our first president, father of our nation George Washington and Padre Serra, founder of the California missions, inspire our American youth to create a culture of life? Personality wise, Washington and Serra were resourceful innovators, stern with discipline and exemplary pacesetters. Their lives can help our youth be all that they can be, and be great leaders of our time. Serra is on Facebook.
