Christina Bickley, left, of the SC Chapter of the ADA, and Marcia Patience of CCU's Kinesiology department worked together to organize the event. Students in Dr. Don Rockey's Recreation Programming Class, along with members of the community, in cooperation with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) organized and participated in a three mile walk on the campus of CCU Saturday to raise funds and awareness for the eradication of diabetes in America. The ADA estimates that nearly 26 million Americans are afflicted with diabetes. If present trends continue, one out of every three Americans will be living with the disease by 2050.
