The scoop | Berkeley has shown some ability to put up points, but the Stags have also shown some problems holding on to the football, too. Last week, Berkeley’s offense had three first-half turnovers that kept the score against Midland Valley close. That’s music to Socastee’s ears, and especially to linebacker Adam Crane. The centerpiece of Socastee’s defense has been able to lock down the middle of the field while Braves defensive linemen and backs rack up turnovers. If Crane has another solid game, as he has most of the season, Berkeley’s offense may be forced to take risks it is not comfortable with. And that could produce the turnovers necessary to push this game well into Socastee’s favor.
