A Myrtle Beach man was charged with point a gun at three motorcyclists after he stopped them by blocking traffic with his vehicle on Ocean Boulevard, according to a police report.
Kevin M. Smith, 43, of Myrtle Beach was charged with three counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person and is being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail after he was taken into custody at 7:33 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report.
Officers were called at 5 p.m. Monday to the area of 901 S. Ocean Blvd., after three men, ages 23, 20 and a juvenile, told police they were riding their motorcycles along Ocean Boulevard when the incident occurred, police said.
The men told police they drove by Smith and he got upset, yelled at them and then passed them by going into oncoming traffic on Ocean Boulevard, according to the report. The men said Smith got ahead of them, stopped his vehicle to block the southbound lanes of traffic and got out of his vehicle.
The men said they stopped and Smith walked up to the juvenile and kicked him in the waist several times as the man sat on his motorcycle, according to the report. That victim told police that Smith yelled for them “to get out of my town” while he pointed a gun at them.
One of the victims yelled that someone needed to call the police, and he said Smith then returned to his vehicle and sped away, according to the report. Witnesses, who were outside in the area when the incident occurred, told police a similar version of events.
