With low humidity and windy conditions expected in the Myrtle Beach area Friday, forecasters warn there is an increased risk for fire danger from outdoor burning.

The relative humidity is expected to drop to 25 to 30 percent Friday across most of Horry and Georgetown counties and southwest winds are expected to gust up to 20 mph and some 25 mph gusts are possible, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C. Because of the lack of recent rains, the S.C. Forestry Commission indicates that fuel moisture levels are low and the risk of wildfires increased.

Area residents should check with local authorities before conducting any outdoor burning and if they do so, use extreme caution, according to a hazardous weather outlook.
