— Players with ties to the Grand Strand have their work cut out in hopes of advancing to the second stage of PGA Tour Qualifying.

Little River’s Patrick Lundy (69) was at even par, three strokes behind the cut line at Florence Country Club. The top 17 players and ties were to advance, and those tied for 17th were at 3 under.

Murrells Inlet’s Zack Byrd (70) was at 3 over and fellow former CCU players Charlie Winegardner (75) and Tripp McAllister (73) were at 5 over and 7 over, respectively.

The final round is Saturday.

• Coastal Carolina 3, (at) Winthrop 2 | The Chanticleers rallied from a 2-1 game deficit to take down the Eagles, 25-20, 17-25, 22-25, 15-12.

Gabriella Horvath had 22 kills, Kinda Bailey added 13 and Eszter Nagy had 11 for Coastal (9-12, 7-3 Big South).
