LORIS — A Tabor City, N.C., man was shot and killed Saturday night in Loris, according to a Horry County coroner.
Elroy Miller, 34, died from a gunshot wound to the chest, said coroner Tony Kendrick. He was pronounced dead on the scene at about 10 p.m.
Loris police responded to the area of Maple and Broad streets for a reported shooting at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Chief Joseph Vaught said.
Once on the scene they found Miller suffering from a gunshot wound.
“It appears it wasn’t a random act of violence,” Vaught said. “We are investigating [the death] as a homicide.”
