Gospel music festival in Myrtle Beach

Bill Gaither hosts Gaither Fest Myrtle Beach, a two-day, three concert gospel event, part of the 2012 Homecoming Series, which kicks off Friday evening at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. MYRTLE BEACH A three-concert event at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center continues Saturday.

Gaither Fest, which already has plans to return to the beach next year, features 20 artists and a guest speaker.

The gospel music festival features Bill and Gloria Gaither who have won eight Grammy’s collectively. The event promises a weekend “that will inspire and nourish your soul for a long, long time.”

Saturday’s events at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center start with a concert and speaker at 10 a.m. The final concert begins at 6 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office and cost $100, or $35 for children.

Steve Scheibner is the speaker on Saturday.

In 2013, the event is scheduled to return to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Oct. 11.
