Monday’s area sports briefs

— Madison Elliott earned medalist honors as she shot a 7-over 79 and led the North Myrtle Beach girls golf team to a victory in the Region VII-AAA Tournament at The Dunes Club on Monday.

Kyle Chandler finished fifth after a round of 92 and Elena Long placed seventh after a round of 93 for North Myrtle Beach.

Alexa Falvey placed second after shooting a round of 80, and Kelli Smith was third after a round of 87 for St. James, which finished second.

The top nine finishers in the tournament were named to the all-region team.

High school volleyball

•  (At) Myrtle Beach Christian Academy 3, Low Country Prep 0 | Caroline Gore had eight aces to lead the Saints past Low Country Prep 25-20, 26-24, 25-9. With the win, Myrtle Beach Christian is 15-1 overall and 4-0 in region play.

Mary Chandler Butler and Rebekah Bowers led the Saints with six kills each. Myrtle Beach Christian will wrap up the regular season on Thursday at home against Coastal Christian of Charleston.
