CCU Women’s soccer
• CONWAY Sophomore Kacey Kelley tallied her sixth goal of the season for the Coastal Carolina women’s soccer team as it dominated VMI from start to finish in a 1-0 win.
The Chanticleers outshot VMI 30-2 to even their Big South Conference record at 3-3-0 and improved to 6-7-0 overall. The 30 shots are the most the Chants have recorded since they shot 33 against VMI in 2009. They also notched their sixth shutout of the season and held an opponent without a shot on goal for the third time. Freshman Faith Farley earned her first career victory, playing just over 82 minutes in goal in relief of junior Megan Spencer.
Todd Hendley shot a tournament low score of 65 in the second round to finish at 134 and in the lead heading into the final round of the SCGA Mid Amateur Championship. The 54 year old had six birdies and an eagle in the round to shoot nines of 31-34. A lone bogey on the final hole, a 172 yard par three, kept the Thornblade Country Club member from tying the current course record.

Tee Opeerman of Pawleys Island is tied for 31st after shooting a 76 in the second round for a 149 total.
