Ann Taylor has closed its only store along the Grand Strand, in The Market Common in Myrtle Beach.

It’s unclear why the store, one of the original tenants when the shopping complex opened in 2008, closed. Neither officials with the women’s clothing store’s corporate office nor The Market Common responded to requests for comment Thursday.

The closest Ann Taylor stores are in Wilmington, N.C.; Mount Pleasant and Charleston, according to the company’s website.

The chain’s Loft brand, which carries more casual and more affordable clothes than Ann Taylor, still has a presence in Myrtle Beach at Coastal Grand mall.
