Re Sept. 16 letter by Pastor Steven Guy, “Spanking endorsed by God”

My husband and I have raised two children. Both work in social services and they were never spanked and have never brought shame to us. You need to start reading the paper more often so you will know how many children are physically abused by their parents. Do you approve of this type of discipline, Pastor Steven? I am very offended by the word “wimp.” Because we are caring and compassionate parents, does that mean (and I quote from the dictionary) we are “weak, cowardly, or an ineffectual person”?
