Chain pet store opens first location in Myrtle Beach area

Published: September 17, 2012

Petco has opened its first Myrtle Beach area store off S.C. 544 in the new Sayebrook Town Center.

The pet supply store -- which has full-service grooming, dog training and an aquatics department -- joins Target and Marshalls in the shopping center at the interchange of S.C. 544 and U.S. 17 Bypass.

Petco’s hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The store has planned a ribbon cutting for 8:55 a.m. Saturday and other grand opening festivities this weekend.

Another pet store chain also is preparing to open in that area.

PetSmart plans to open its second store along the Grand Strand across S.C. 544 from Petco next month beside Kohl’s in the South Strand Commons Shopping Center. PetSmart’s other area store is outside Coastal Grand mall in Myrtle Beach.
