Exhibitors to showcase products, services at home, outdoor living show
About 200 exhibitors are expected to showcase their products and services at this weekend’s Home Improvement & Outdoor Living Show.
The Horry Georgetown Home Builders Association’s event, presented by The Professional Remodelers Council, will have exhibitors, speakers, workshops, seminars and demonstrations.
Attendees can anticipate finding anything for remodeling the home and for outdoor living areas at the second annual show.
The Sun News is one of the sponsors of the show, which will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, 2101 N. Oak St.
The cost is $5 per adult and free for children under 16 years old.

Sept. 11 memorial to be unveiled
The Myrtle Beach 9-11 Unity Memorial, a shrine that will feature a piece of steel ribbon beam from the North Tower of the World Trade Center, will be unveiled during a ceremony from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at Unity Memorial at Broadway at the Beach, on the 29th Avenue side.
Myrtle Beach city officials and former members of the New York Fire Department. The piece of ribbon beam is a show of appreciation for the Myrtle Beach tourism community, which hosted countless first responders to provide them respite from the work of restoring Ground Zero.
Aynor Hoe-Down among local festivals this week
The 33rd annual Harvest Hoe-Down Festival will be held Saturday at the Aynor Town Part, off U.S. 501 and will include a parade at 10 a.m., musical entertainment from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a street dance with The Party Favor Band from 7-10 p.m. That same day, the fourth annual Mr. Myrtle Beach Contest will be held at 6 p.m. at Revolutions Nightclub at Broadway at the Beach to benefit Katie’s Project of Myrtle Beach.
