College golf
Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Plantation are hosting the second annual Golfweek Program Challenge, a men’s and women’s joint team collegiate golf tournament Sunday through Tuesday. Twelve colleges are competing for men’s, women’s and overall combined titles.
Competing teams include Austin Peay, Boston College, Campbell, Central Arkansas, Georgetown, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Missouri-Kansas City, Northern Iowa, Stetson, Troy and Western Carolina.
The men will compete at True Blue while the women tee it up at Caledonia. Each course will conduct their own tournament, but the Golfweek Program Challenge trophy will be awarded to the school with the combined best co-ed score.
Campbell defeated East Carolina in a playoff last year. The event is free and open to spectators. For more information call 1-800-483-6800 or visit www.FishClub.com.
