Spend the day at a state park

Both area state parks are open every day of the year, including holidays, for walks, bicycling and nature and bird watching. Details at www.southcarolinaparks.com.:

• Huntington Beach State Park, on U.S. 17 between Murrells Inlet and Litchfield Beach, across from Brookgreen Gardens; call 237-4440.

• Myrtle Beach State Park, on U.S. 17 Business, one mile south of Farrow Parkway/South Ocean Boulevard, across from Seagate Village; 238-5325.

Last day for schooner exhibit

The exhibit, “Lumber Schooners,” a photographic display from the port of Georgetown at the beginning of the 20th century, will have its finale day. See 26 enlarged photographs, charts and maps that have been reproduced, courtesy of the Maine Maritime Museum and the Georgetown County Digital Library. Pelicans wrap up season

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Advanced-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, conclude their regular season, against the Lynchburg Hillcats, an Atlanta Braves farm club from Virginia. Tim Walkoe takes comedy’s stage

Tim Walkoe, known for his rapid fire delivery and shoot-from-the-hip style, and for playing Mayor Emerson Bowden on Fox TV’s “Murder in Small Town X,” will perform nightly through Saturday, with Mark Matusoff and Cooter Douglas opening. Details at 449-4242 or comedycabana.com.
