— The Coastal Carolina volleyball team lost its opener of the Panther Invitational in three games against Pittsburgh.

The Panthers won 25-0, 25-11, 25-23.

Gabriella Horvath led CCU (0-4) with 11 kills.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans

Carolina League field managers voted the surface at TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark as the best on the circuit. It marks the sixth time in the past seven seasons that Myrtle Beach has received the prestigious “Field of the Year” Award presented by the Sports Turf Managers Association.
