Game recap | Wilmington started scoring early and often. The Blue Rocks put their first run up in the third inning. They then erupted for six runs in the fourth, which proved to be too much for Myrtle Beach. The Pelicans tried making a run of it by scoring a run in the eighth inning and two in the top of the ninth.

Star of the game | Wilmington’s Leondy Perez – who gave up just five hits and one run in seven innings.

In the news | Myrtle Beach’s Ben Rowen was named the Carolina League Relief Pitcher of the Year. Rowen is tied for the league lead with 18 saves and has a .96 ERA since the All-Star break.
