Olympic medals letter was satire

Published: August 21, 2012

Last week, I wrote a letter to the editor recommending that Olympic medalists should turn over their prizes to the Olympic committee for it to decide who should receive the medal. My letter was satire comparing the recent Olympic games with our economy. Substitute “athlete” with “business owner,” “medal” with “profits,” and “Olympic committee” with “the government,” and you might understand the point I was trying to make.

I was hoping to raise awareness of our current economic situation.
