Nuclear waste disposal plan outrageous

Re July 22 article, “S.C. targeted for nuclear waste”

What? How can the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control consider allowing New Jersey (Sayreville Seaport Association) or any other state to dump tons of “lightly” radioactive” dirt (3,900 railroad cars) in a garbage “mega” dump designed to take household garbage? Burying it deeper may be acceptable to DHEC but probably not to Lee County residents.

The answer is that South Carolina charges a much lower dumping fee than other states. Maybe the state will consider turning that site into a tourist attraction since it’s on Interstate 20 and no fee would need to be charged to dump in S.C. What has happened to “We the People” in this country?
