Police used a Taser on a Myrtle Beach man and he fell down a flight of stairs, after he refused to surrender to Horry County officers as they arrested him related to assaults on the man’s wife and mother-in-law, according to a police report.

Taylor was released at 11 a.m. Wednesday on $4,500 bail, according to jail records.
Taylor’s 34-year-old wife called police at 6:42 p.m. Monday to report she arrived at their apartment at Cape Landing Circle and Taylor would not open the door for her to go inside with her six-year-old daughter, according to the report. When the police vehicle drove up in the parking lot, the victim said Taylor opened the door and ran into a wooded area.
The woman told officers there was no physical confrontation, but her television was missing.
At 11 p.m. the woman’s mother called 911 to report her son-in-law was choking her daughter in front of their 6-year-old daughter, according to the report. When police arrived they learned from the 34-year-old woman that Taylor climbed up the balcony, went into the apartment and fell asleep in the bed.
The woman said she asked Taylor to sleep on the couch, but he refused and he choked her while they were on the bed, according to the report. The woman’s child was also in the room.
The woman’s mother told officers she saw Taylor’s hands around her daughter’s neck and her granddaughter was in the room, so she called police, according to the report. Taylor yelled at officers to get out of his house and he calmed down when they went into the common area of the building.
Officers said they were going to arrest Taylor and he ran in the breezeway, so the used a Taser on him, according to the report. The officer noted that Taylor continued to run away from officers, and then fell down the stairs onto the patio area. Taylor suffered cuts to his face when he fell down the stairs.
