Armando K. Chestnut, 36, of Myrtle Beach, was indicted on charges of murder, attempted murder, pointing and presenting a firearm, lynching/assault and battery by a mob and possession with intent to distribute heroin, according to indictments released Wednesday.
Chestnut remains jailed at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Bond was set at $110,000 on the assault and weapon charge, while bond has not been set on the murder and attempted murder charges, according to jail records.
The murder, assault and weapon charges stemmed from March 6 when Myrtle Beach police were called to Third Avenue Sports Bar at 1102 Third Ave. S., for a shooting, according to records.
Police said two people were shot including Jamell McFadden, 35, of Kingstree, who was killed. Officers learned that just after 1 a.m. there was an altercation and patrons were asked to leave the bar. Once outside, a fight occurred and gunshots were fired.
McFadden and a 32-year-old man were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.
At 5:45 p.m. on March 6, Myrtle Beach police Capt. David Knipes said that McFadden had died from his injuries and five people were arrested in connection with the incident.
