Pawleys Island business to expand, create 30 jobs

Mercom Corp., which provides network technology services, plans to expand its Pawleys Island operations, creating 30 jobs and investing $1 million, the company announced Wednesday.

Hiring for the jobs already has started, but the Pawleys Island-based company also is looking for cable installation technicians and a sales account executive, according to its website. Jobseekers can go to www.mercomcorp.com/careers for more information.

Mercom specializes in design, integration and installation of information technology systems and program and project management in the commercial and government sectors.

“Our company continues to see growth, and we are pleased to move forward with this expansion,” Mercom vice president and chief operating officer Larry Mercado said in a news release. “Georgetown County provides us with an excellent business environment and a strong workforce, and we look forward to continue doing business here.”
