Published: July 25, 2012

Myrtle Beach police are investigating after a person was found dead in a vehicle at the Chick-fil-A on Mr. Joe White Avenue.

Authorities were called to the restaurant at 2:18 p.m. where the body of a man was found in a silver Chevrolet Avalanche, police said.

Lt. Doug Furlong, with Myrtle Beach police, confirmed said the man was reported missing to Horry County police yesterday.

Foul play is not suspected at this time, but Furlong said police won’t know if the man’s death is suspicious until the cause of death is determined by the Horry County Coroner’s office.

Chick-fil-A remains open to customers both dining in and in the drive-thru.

Myrtle Beach police will continue to investigate, Furlong said.
