Former Horry County sheriff’s deputy arrested for biting woman

A former Horry County sheriff’s deputy was arrested Thursday in connection to a June 23 assault, said the S.C. Law Enforcement division.

Kendal Grey Caulder, 58, of Conway is charged with third degree assault and battery, the report said. Caulder was being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Caulder is accused of physically assaulting a woman by slapping her thigh and biting her stomach leaving bruises, according to the arrest warrant.

SLED investigated the incident at the request of the Horry County Sheriff’s Office, the report said. The case will be prosecuted by the 15th Circuit Solicitors’ Office.
