MYRTLE BEACH — A 21-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police his girlfriend chased him down U.S. 17 Bypass and rammed her vehicle into his after an argument at her home about her missing car keys, according to a police report.
The victim told police that about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday he left his girlfriend’s home near North Myrtle Beach and was driving along U.S. 17 near 82nd Avenue North when she drove up next to him and tried to run him off the road, police said.
The victim said the 18-year-old woman stopped her vehicle in front of his, so he stopped and then she backed up toward him, according to the report.
The victim said he tried to avoid her vehicle, but she backed into his vehicle, which belongs to his father.
The victim said the woman drove through the median and left, so he continued to drive down U.S. 17 to get away from her, according to the report.
The man said his vehicle stopped near U.S. 501 and he called police.
Myrtle Beach police officers found evidence of the crash along U.S. 17 Bypass and called Horry County police to make contact with the woman, who lives in the county’s jurisdiction, according to the report.
Officers found the woman’s home and damaged vehicle, but the woman did not speak to officers.
