EUGENE, Ore. — Green Sea Floyds High School alum Calesio Newman narrowly missed making the Olympics on Sunday, finishing fourth in the 200 meters, a mere hundredth of a second out of third place.
Newman, a former All-American at North Carolina A&T, ran 20.17 on the outside lane and finished 0.01 behind Isiah Young, who took the third and final spot. Wallace Spearman Jr. (19.82) took first and Maurice Mitchell (20.14) was runner-up.
