An off duty Conway police officer was shot at his Horry County home Monday morning when he confronted a burglar, Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler said.
The cop, whose name has not been released, was shot in the arm and his injuries are described as non life-threatening, Kegler said.
The incident happened about 11:40 a.m. Monday at a home on Good Luck Road, off Nichols Highway in the northwestern section of Horry County, according to authorities.
Detectives with Horry County polices violent crimes division are investigating the incident, Kegler said.
Details about the suspect were not immediately available.
