Two men have been charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday, according to authorities.
Glenn Wendell Bellamy, 26, and Dustin Wilson, 22, both of Conway, have been charged with murder, said Catina Hipp, spokeswoman for Conway Police Department. Bellamy also was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
The men are being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center pending a bond hearing before a Circuit Court judge.
The charges stem from the shooting death of 34-year-old Douglas Floyd of Conway, who was pronounced dead after authorities arrived shortly after midnight Tuesday in the 2300 block of Leonard Avenue, police said.
Officers were called for a shooting and found Floyd lying on the concrete with a gunshot wound to the head, Hipp said.
An autopsy performed Tuesday afternoon showed that Floyd died from a gunshot wound, Horry County Deputy Coroner Duane Brown said.
Bellamy and Wilson were taken into police custody a short distance away from Leonard Avenue by Horry County police officers who conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle they were in, Hipp said.
More details will be posted as they become available.
