Conway police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred overnight on Leonard Avenue, according to authorities

A man was killed in the shooting that occurred just after midnight, said Sgt. Selena Small with Conway Police Department.

The shooting is under investigation and more details will be released when additional information is available, Small said.

Douglas Floyd, 34, of Conway, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident between 12:30 and 1 a.m., said Horry County Deputy Coroner Duane Brown.

An autopsy Tuesday afternoon revealed Floyd had died from a gunshot wound.

Details of the incident were not immediately available.
