Robbery, assault reported at Broadway
A 22-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police he was struck in the back of his head and robbed at Broadway at the Beach, according to a police report.
The victim called officers just before 2 a.m. Sunday to report the incident, which occurred about 20 minutes prior, police said
The victim told police he was walking on a wooden bridge toward the Hampton Inn at 1140 Celebrity Circle when he stopped to call a friend and was struck from behind in the head, according to the report. The victim said he fell and the suspect took his wallet and fled began to walk away.
The victim, who said he is in the Navy told police that the suspect took his Navy Federal debit card and demanded the PIN number before he walked away.
The victim said he waited for the suspect to leave and walked after him, but he did not see the suspect again.

Woman assaulted while holding baby
A Conway man was jailed Sunday after Horry County police said he slapped a woman holding a baby because she wanted to go to sleep and he did not, according to a police report.
Jason Paul Causey, 30, was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 1:32 p.m. Sunday on charges of kidnapping, third or subsequent offense of criminal domestic violence and unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person by a legal custodian, according to jail records.
Officers were called about 2 a.m. Saturday to Estate Drive in Conway after the 35-year-old woman said Causey, her boyfriend, held her there for about three hours, according to the report. The victim had swelling and redness to her face.
The victim told police that the couple was in bed and her baby, whose age was not listed on the report, was sleeping in a bassinet in the room, according to the report. The victim said she told Causey she had a headache and wanted to go to sleep.
The victim said Causey got upset, grabbed her, slapped her in the face and pulled her hair, according to the report. The victim said she grabbed the baby and tried to leave, but that Causey chased after her.
The victim said Causey picked her up while she had the baby in her arms, carried her back to the bedroom and hit her in the face, according to the report. The victim said she was hit several times in the face while holding the baby.
The victim said Causey took her phone and would not allow her to leave the house for about three hours. The victim said Causey returned her cell phone and then left the house and she called police.
The victim complained of blurred vision, but declined to be taken to a hospital and said a family member would drive her, according to the report. Officers did not immediately find Causey and noted he has two prior convictions from criminal domestic violence.

Man caught fondling self in alley
Myrtle Beach police arrested a 20-year-old man after officers said he was masturbating in an alley near the boardwalk early Sunday, according to a police report.
Blake Lawrence Laberge, 20, was charged with indecent exposure, resisting arrest and public intoxication after officers on patrol saw him standing in the middle of an access alley leading to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, police said.

Woman robbed while searching for shells
A woman looking for seashells around 5th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach was robbed, according to police.
The 36-year-old woman said she was looking for shells around 1:30 a.m. when a man behind her asked what “she had on her,” a report said. The woman turned, said she had only her cell phone and was slapped in the face, according to police. The suspect then walked away.
He’s described as a 20 to 25 year old man, slim build and standing between 5’8” and 5’10,” according to police.

Man accused of using stolen credit cards
Police are looking for a man they say tried to use stolen credit cards.
The 29-year-old man is accused of using a 40-year-old woman’s credit cart to purchase iPads from the Target in the Seaboard Commons shopping center. Police said he tried to purchase a $900 iPad but was declined. He then tried to purchase a $435 iPad with a different card and was declined again.
He was seen getting into the passenger side of a two-door red car. The victim recognized him as a friend of her daughters but had no other information.
The Sun News does not identify suspects until formal charges have been filed.
Police described him as a 165-pound man standing at 5’11” with brown hair and brown eyes.

Man wanted for breaking and entering
Police are searching for a man who broke into a former friend’s home in Myrtle Beach last month.
A 21-year-old woman woke up around 5:30 a.m. May 26 to a man standing over her bed, a report said. He left when she woke up and said nothing had been taken from her home on the 1000 block of Osceola Street, according to police.
The woman told police she used to be friends with the man.
The Sun News does not name suspects until formal charges have been filed. Police described the suspect as a 22-year-old man with black hair and brown eyes, standing at 5’9” and weighing 150-pounds.
