Man sentenced to 11 years for robbery
A Myrtle Beach man was sentenced to 11 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a robbery charge, according to court records.
Shyneek Chestnut, 30, pleaded guilty to strong arm robbery nd Circuit Court Judge Larry Hyman sentenced him to 11 years in prison with credit for time he has served, according to court records. Chestnut, who had been jailed since Aug. 12, 2011, also must pay court costs.
Chestnut was indicted by an Horry County Grand Jury on a charge of first-degree assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct in connection with an Aug. 11 incident involving a woman.
Other charges including the assault, a kidnapping charge, indecent exposure and throwing of body fluids by a prisoner on a corrections employee were dismissed.

Police look for suspect in burglary
A Myrtle Beach woman suspects a man she gave an apple to in her yard of burglarizing her home after she left to go do laundry, according to a police report.
Officers were called about 3 p.m. Wednesday to the 400 block of Chester Street for a burglary incident, police said.
The 33-year-old woman told police that two hours earlier she was leaving her home to go do laundry when she encountered a man in her yard, according to the report. The woman said the man lifted his shirt and said he was sick and the woman gave him an apple.
The victim said she left and when she returned she found her door partially open and a television and DVD player, both valued at $380, missing from inside the home, according to the report. A neighbor told officers that she saw a man hanging out near the home and then saw him leaving with a bag that had a television inside.
Detectives are investigating.

Man charged with punching woman
A Myrtle Beach man was charged with punching a 48-year-old woman in the face after she told him not to come into her friend’s apartment because the friend does not like him, according to a police report.
John Franklin Francis, 42, was charged with criminal domestic violence after officers were called about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to 311 Fourth Ave. N., for the incident, police said.
The 48-year-old victim told police that Francis drove her to the friend’s apartment and she told him not to come inside, according to the report. The victim said she was standing at the passenger door leaning into the window when Francis punched her in the face and she fell backwards to the ground.
The victim said Francis got out of the car and walked away. While police were there, Francis was seen walking toward the beach access at Fourth Avenue North and officers took him into custody.
The victim had visible swelling and redness to her right eye, according to the report. The victim said she and Francis have been together for several years.
Francis had one prior criminal domestic violence conviction within the last 10 years, according to the report. No additional details about the incident were listed in the report.

Balcony fall reported at campground
Horry County police investigated report late Thursday that a person fell from a second floor balcony at Ocean Lakes Campground.
Details about the incident, including the condition of the victim, were not available by press time.
