Horry County police continue to search for a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night.
Sgt. Robert Kegler, Horry County Police Department spokesman, said officers responded to Ronald McNair Boulevard, near the Carolina Bays Parkway overpass, on a report of shots fired. A crime scene was found at that time.
At that same time, a man arrived at the Conway emergency room with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later, Kegler said.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said the victim was Jose Gutierez, 20, of Myrtle Beach. An autopsy hasn’t been performed at this time, but it appears the man died of at least one gunshot wound, he added.
There is no suspect information at this time. Anyone who has any information about this shooting should call 915-TIPS.
