Myrtle Beach resident Yoshio Yamamato, Nemanja Savic and Chris DeJohn are tied for the lead of the NGA Tour Carolina Winter Series event at Barefoot Resort-Fazio after the trio fired a 5-under 66.

Patrick Lundy of Little River is tied for 11th after he shot a 2-over 73.

The Coastal Carolina women’s golf team shot 16-over 304 in the final round of the UCF Challenge and finished tied for 14th (915) with Mississippi State.

Auburn (863) edged Baylor (865) by two shots to win the tournament after firing a 6-over 294.

The Chants’ Brittany Henderson (74) finished tied for 14th (219), Kaitlin Higginbotham (79) fell six spots to 58th (229), Jessica Alexander (77) finished tied for 74th (232), Frida Castillo (74) moved up 13 spots to finish tied for 81st and Courtney Boe (81) was 97th (+31).

CCU men’s golf

The Coastal Carolina men’s golf team posted a 54-hole score of 930 (310-315-305) and finished 13th in the 15-team San Diego Intercollegiate.

Washington won the tournament after posting a score of 870 (284-299-287), edging Southern California by seven strokes.

The Chant’s Sebastian Soderberg (75) finished tied for 40th (229), Charlie Winegardner (77) finished tied for 48th (231), Peter Valasek (78) was tied for 62nd (236) and Kevin Vanden Heuvel (80) and Ben Wheeler (75) placed tied for 68th (239).

CCU men’s tennis

The Coastal Carolina men’s tennis team swept Mount Olive 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.

Coastal (3-1) won all of the singles matches in straight sets and also won the doubles point to win its home opener.

The Chants’ Danny Heidecker won at No. 1 position 6-1, 6-1, followed by No. 3 singles player Yusuke Kusuda winning his match 6-2, 6-1. Leading 3-0 after securing the point in the doubles match Matias Di Pasquale defeated Murilo Pelegrino 6-1, 6-0 to win the match.

Leo Christofides, Mo Hookaylo and Garik Yedigarian won the remaining matches for CCU.
