New this Week - Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Capsule reviews of films opening this week:

“GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE” (PG-13): Nicolas Cage reprises his role as the Marvel Comics superhero with a flaming skull and an insatiable appetite for raining pain down on evildoers. The wild-and-crazy duo of Neveldine / Taylor (“Crank”) directs. (Not screening for critics before it opens Friday.)

“THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY” (G): Disney presents the latest import from Japan's famed Studio Ghibli (“Spirited Away,” “Ponyo”), about a family of tiny people only 4 inches tall who share the home of unsuspecting humans.

“THIS MEANS WAR” (PG-13): Chris Pine and Thomas Hardy are two CIA agents who launch into spy-versus-spy antics when they fall for the same woman (Reese Witherspoon).
