There were around 50 local youth who turned out at Myrtle Beach State Park Saturday morning to participate in a day-long pond restoration project.
The project was a partnership between the state park and the Department of Juvenile Justice. Many of the teens were working to complete community service hours.
“The project brings the youth out to a state park to give back to the community and to get the kids outdoors to do a project that will enhance the wildlife of the park,” said park manager Jerry Ives.
