Ocean Bay Middle School collects 1,200 pairs of jeans for charity

Ocean Bay Middle School students collected more than 1,200 pairs of jeans for donation over a two week period.

It’s part of the “Teens for Jeans” charity drive organized by the Aéropostale clothing company. The jeans will be donated to locals in need.

In four years, Aéropostale has collected more than 1.5 million pairs of jeans, a press release said. In exchange for gently used jeans, donors were given coupons for a new pair from the clothing store at a 25 percent discount. The donated jeans are given to the homeless.

On Monday at 9 a.m., managers and regional directors from Aéropostale will collect the donations from Ocean Bay Middle.
