Re Feb. 3 letter by Jack Correia, “Leave rally alone; it’s a plus for area”

May I say that many of the people who live in Long Bay Estates, have been there since the community was established in 1958. Most of the other residents have lived here for 25-35 years. Cromer’s peanut warehouse was the big attraction (family themed). Now Harley-Davidson is the new boy on the block, opening in 1999 and causing disturbing problems for our community, time and time again.

Mr. Correia’s right, it’s good for Myrtle Beach, but we live in the county, and Myrtle Beach wants no part of the rally. I wonder why? Not greedy enough. Thank God for Gary Loftus, the only one with the courage to stand up for us.

I’ll think of Mr. Correia the next time I’m in my car waiting patiently to get out of Long Bay Estates. Thank you all for listening to the other side.
