Things to do in the Myrtle Beach area on Feb. 3

Visit planetarium this weekend

Two sister entities in coastal North Carolina – the Museum of Coastal Carolina and the Ingram Planetarium – are in winter mode, open Fridays and Saturdays. Reach the museum at 910-579-1016, planetarium at 910-575-0033, or visit www.museumplanetarium.org. Also, for anyone who missed the premiere on ABC-TV for “A Smile as Big as the Moon,” for which a part was filmed at the planetarium, the movie will replay on Hallmark Channel at 8 and 10 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. Feb. 5 and 4 p.m. Feb. 12.

• Museum of Coastal Carolina, 21 E. Second St., Ocean Isle Beach, open 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

• Ingram Planetarium, 7625 High Market St., Sunset Beach, open noon-5 p.m., with Sky Theater shows: “Seven Wonders” at 1 p.m., “Two Pieces of Glass” at 2 p.m., “Oasis in Space” at 3 p.m., and “Astronaut at 4 p.m. – and laser shows at 5 and 6 p.m.

How much | Admission to museum, and per Sky Theater planetarium show is $8 adults, $6 ages 60 and older, and students; and $4 ages 3-4

Enjoy a country dinner and dance

The Classic Country Band plays dinner concerts on the first three Fridays monthly through March. Lead guitarist Howard Gerald is a Loris native who was Ferlin Husky’s bandleader at the Grand Ole Opry in the 1960s, and Larry Murphy plays bass and Bobbie Davis drums.
