Police say man threatened his family

A Conway man was arrested just before 2 a.m. Wednesday on charges that he threatened his family.

Police charged Fernando Gonzalez, 34, of Conway, with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and possession of stolen property.

Jail records show he is in custody at J. Reuben Long pending $25,500 bail.

A Horry County Police report said Gonzalez’s wife called police after he threatened to kill everyone in their home.

Gonzalez was found covered in mud in the woods behind the home when police arrived.

The man did not have a gun on him when officers arrested him, but a shotgun was found inside the home. The report said Gonzalez’s wife heard the shotgun being loaded. Police said there were three 20-gauge shotgun shells in the magazine tube.

According to the report, the couple had been drinking and the wife fell asleep. She woke up to an argument and her husband hit her twice in the face, police said. The woman took the three children into a bedroom and locked the door.

The report said Gonzalez demanded his wife come out of the room and threatened to beat her until she lost consciousness.

When she didn’t come out, the report said the man threatened to kill everyone.

Police said the shotgun had been stolen from a pawn shop in the Socastee area.

Woman charged in cable service theft

A Myrtle Beach woman really wanted to watch television after police said she was stealing her neighbor’s television cable service, according to a police report.

Amanda Sarah Minion, 32, was arrested Wednesday and charged with unauthorized connection or use of a device to cable television system, according to Myrtle Beach records.

Officers were called about 8:30 a.m. Saturday to a home in the 500 block of Oak Forest Lane where a 53-year-old woman said her cable service had stopped working that morning and she saw her neighbor at the cable box in the yard, police said.

The woman told police that she saw Minion connect her television wire to the victim’s box, according to the report. The woman said it has been an ongoing problem and she had technicians from Time Warner Cable at her home the prior day for the same issue.

Time Warner Cable officials told police that Minion does not have service with them, according to the report. A technician arrived at the home and verified an illegal connection was made to the victim’s cable connection box in her yard.

Officers sought an arrest warrant for Minion and she was charged.

Georgia man charged with shoplifting

Myrtle Beach police charged a Georgia man with shoplifting after officers said he tried to steal $123 worth of items from Kmart, after gambling away his money, according to a police report.

Donald Wayne Sullivan, 40, of Alpharetta, Ga., was charged with shoplifting after officers were called at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to the store at 1403 N. Kings Highway, police said.

A loss prevention employee told police that he watched Sullivan via security cameras try to steal six sets of headphones, two energy drinks, a package of smokeless tobacco, a package of Milk Duds candy and an orange soda, according to the report. The employee said Sullivan concealed the items in his jacket and pants pockets and tried to walk out of the store without paying for them.

A security officer stopped Sullivan and he turned over the items in the security office, according to the report.

Sullivan told officers he had been gambling on a casino boat and lost about $1,600, police said. Sullivan told police planned to pawn the stolen items to get money so he could go home.
