Man struck, killed by car
An Horry County man was killed Saturday night shortly after he was struck by a vehicle, authorities said.
Wallace Parmley, 50, was pronounced dead at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center at 7:28 p.m. Saturday, less than an hour after he was struck by a vehicle on Red Bluff Road near S.C. 905, said Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
Parmley was trying to walk to a vehicle on the other side of the road when he was struck, Willard said.
The driver of the 2009 Saturn will not be charged in the crash because pedestrians are not permitted on the roadway, said Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Parmley also was wearing dark clothing, Collins said.
Parmley died of multiple trauma, Willard said.

Bullock and Foriest also were each charged with two counts of first-degree burglary.
Ben Denton also faces two counts of attempted burglary, while De’Aisha Denton was charged with two counts of accessory after the fact of a felony and Bullock was charged with grand larceny with a value between $2,000 and $10,000, Kegler said. They were all booked at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
The teens were arrested Tuesday when officers were called to a home on Clandon Drive in the Myrtle Beach section of Horry County for a burglary, Kegler said. Witness told officers they saw the four men leaving the area in a sliver vehicle.
Officers found the vehicle and took the teens into custody. Kegler said they found many items that had been reported stolen in the vehicle, Kegler said. Detectives linked the teens to seven other burglaries that occurred in the communities of Socastee, Forestbrook, Carolina Forest and Conway.
