•  West Side Democrats meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Horry County Democratic Party Headquarters, 900 Fourth Ave., Conway.

•  Horry County Democrats will meet in precinct clusters for Democratic Presidential Primary-Caucus/Precinct Reorganization at 10 a.m. Saturday at various polling places around the county.

• Join Horry County Democrats for happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Handley's Pub and Grub, 3873 Renee Drive, Carolina Forest. Handley's is in the Kroger Shopping Center at the intersection of U.S. 501 and Carolina Forest Boulevard. Once you enter the shopping center, take Renee Drive and Handley's will be on the West side.

There are happy hour specials for food and drink.

Republicans

• The Georgetown County Republican Party is holding a meet-and-greet event with the GOP candidates for the new 7th congressional district, beginning at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the Tara Theater at the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort, 14276 Ocean Highway.

Tickets are $10 each.

The event is sponsored by the Georgetown County Republican Party and it clubs, including the Waccamaw Neck Republican Club, the Women’s Republican Club, the GOP Patriots and the Lower/Upper Georgetown Club.

•  Conservatives for Responsible Government holds its first meeting of the new year at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at T-bonz Gill & Grill on Seaboard Street in Seaboard Commons, Myrtle Beach.

Social hour begins at 11:15, while lunch and guest speaker Chad Prosser, a candidate for the new 7th congressional district, begins at noon.

• The Waccamaw Neck Republican Club invites all local residents to attend a monthly “Coffee

Time with the Candidates” series from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The first event takes place Saturday at Applewood’s House of Pancakes, 14361 U.S. 17, Litchfield, next to the Bi Lo in the Litchfield Commons Exchange Center, and will feature Randy Hollister, candidate for state House District 108; and Waldo Maring, candidate for reelection as probate judge.

• The Brunswick County Republican Women’s Club is offering campaign training, developed and presented by NC Civitas.

The deadline to sign up for the Feb. 4 event is Sunday.

The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Brunswick County Republican Party headquarters, 971 Old Ocean Highway, Bolivia, N.C.

The cost is $15 including lunch. Late registration and walk ins are $25, space permitting.

• The Myrtle Beach Tea Party meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Jan. 30 at Rotelli’s restaurant, 201 Graduate Road, Suite 109, Conway, across U.S. 501 from the entrance to Coastal Carolina University.
