Seven charges were filed against an N.C. man for leading Horry County police on a chase, Sgt. Robert Kegler said in a news release Friday.

Hermillion Feah Williams, 32, of Tabor City, N.C., was charged with reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights, resisting arrest, driving under suspension, unlawful turning, improper start and violation of seat belt law, Kegler said.

He is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

At about 2 p.m. Thursday, Horry County police tried to stop a vehicle in the Racepath community of Myrtle Beach, but as the officers went to make contact with the driver, he drove off, Kegler said in the press release.

Police chased the vehicle on Robert Grissom Parkway and then onto S.C. 31.

The driver stopped the vehicle on S.C. 31 and ran into the Grande Dunes neighborhood, where he was eventually found and arrested, Kegler stated.
