Democrats

• The Democratic Women’s Council of Horry County meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Martin's Restaurant, 7200 N. Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach, and will hear from Gloria Bromell Tinubu, a candidate for the new 7th congressional district.

• The South Strand Republican Club invites everyone to attend a debate watching party Monday at Kono, 1901 N. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach.

The restaurant will provide two large TVs for the entire event, from pre-debate happenings to post-debate discussion. Light snacks will be available and happy hour beverage prices will be in effect. People who want to have dinner are invited to come early -- a special event menu will be available.

A poll will be taken at the conclusion to get reaction and comments.

• The Georgetown County Republican Party is holding a meet-and-greet event with the GOP candidates for the new 7th congressional district, beginning at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Tara Theater at the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort, 14276 Ocean Highway.

Tickets are $10 each.

• The Waccamaw Neck Republican Club invites all local residents to attend a monthly “Coffee

Time with the Candidates” series from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The first event takes place Jan. 28 at Applewood’s House of Pancakes, 14361 U.S. 17, Litchfield, next to the Bi Lo in the Litchfield Commons Exchange Center, and will feature Randy Hollister, candidate for state House District 108; and Waldo Maring, candidate for reelection as probate judge.
