Home invaded in Pawleys Island

Officials in Georgetown County are searching for two men wanted in connection with a home invasion Friday morning in Pawleys Island, according to Carrie Cuthbertson, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.

Police said two men knocked on the door at a home on Parkersville Road around 1:30 a.m. When the person living in the home answered, one of the suspects showed what appeared to be a handgun and the two forced their way into the home.

The victim was struck several times by one of the suspects, Cuthbertson said.

The suspects ran toward Martin Luther King Road and officers were unable to locate them.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 843-546-5102

Pair identified in Little River robberies

Horry County police have identified two men wanted in connection with two separate robbery incidents that occurred in Little River parking lots, according to a news release from spokesman Sgt. Robert Kegler.

Callahan Sherman Seagle, 25, of Calabash, N.C., is being charged with two counts of armed robbery and first-degree assault and battery. Seagle is currently in custody at New Hanover County Detention Facility, Kegler said.

Henry Logan Leggett II, 24, also of Calabash, N.C., is being charged with accessory before the fact of a felony. Leggett is currently in custody at New Hanover County Detention Facility.

On Jan. 4, Horry County police officers responded to the parking lot at Food Lion at 1699 U.S.17 in Little River in reference to a robbery.

Officers were told that an unknown man stole a woman’s purse in the parking lot. That man and another drove away in a Chevy S-10, Kegler said.

Officers responded on Jan.5 to the parking lot of Lowe’s Foods at 2575 S.C.179 in Little River for a similar incident, Kegler said. Another woman was robbed in the parking lot when her purse was taken by force.

The victim also was assaulted during the incident, Kegler said. The man again got into a Chevy S-10 where another man was waiting to flee the scene.

A police investigation led Horry County detectives to New Hanover County Detention Facility in Castle Hayne, N.C., where two men fitting the description were in custody for similar incidents, Kegler said.

Arrest warrants were obtained on Seagle and Leggett for the incidents in Horry County. They will be formally charged upon their return to Horry County, Kegler said.
