Police find couple with bloody faces

A Myrtle Beach couple was jailed late Thursday after police found them with bloody faces, according to a police report.

Officers received a 911 hang up telephone call at 7:20 p.m. Thursday from 205 S. Myrtle St., and found a man bleeding from his nose and the woman unconscious on the bedroom floor, police said. The 27-year-old woman also was bleeding from a laceration on her nose and was taken by EMS to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

The 29-year-old man was treated at the scene before he was taken to jail, according to the report. The man told police that the woman had drank too much and they fought.

The woman told police that they were drinking at a friend’s house and got into an argument about her drinking too much, according to the report. The woman said the man hit her several times.

A witness told police he saw the couple wrestling on the ground outside the house and both had bloody faces, according to the report.

The witness said when he opened the door the dogs ran out of the house and the man went after them while the woman went inside to her room.

The woman remained at the hospital and the man was taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail.

Charges are pending against the couple. The Sun News does not identify suspects until formal charges are filed.

Little River home destroyed by fire

Horry County fire investigators are searching for clues as to what caused a fire early Friday at a Little River home, according to Leslie Yancey, Horry County Fire Rescue spokeswoman.

Firefighters were called at 1:39 a.m. Friday to 1575 Edge Road for a blaze at a single-family structure, Yancey said. When fire crews arrived they found about 50 percent of the home engulfed in flames that were coming from the back of the home.

Horry County fire crews were assisted in battling the blaze by firefighters from Calabash, N.C.

Additional details were not immediately available and more information may be released later Friday.

Chick-fil-A cow’s head stolen

Myrtle Beach police searched Thursday night for the head of a cow.

But this cow head is easily recognizable as the mascot for Chick-fil-A restaurants.

The head of the cow, valued at $1,000, was reported stolen at 6:15 p.m. Thursday from the Myrtle Beach Convention Center located at 2101 N. Oak St., police said.

A Chick-fil-A manager told officers that someone walked into an exhibit hall inside the convention center and took the head of the cow costume, according to a police report.

Officers checked video surveillance cameras and saw a man walk into the hallway, look around and then take the cow head.

Officers saw the man on video surveillance leave the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel with the cow head, according to the report. Police are investigating the incident.
