A 34-year-old Bennettsville man who was featured on “America’s Most Wanted” will be sentenced Tuesday for his role in the stabbing of an Aynor store employee in 2009, according to 15th Judicial Circuit Deputy Solicitor Jimmy Richardson.

Antonio Dion Gilbert, 34, pleaded guilty earlier this month to kidnapping, armed robbery, and assault and battery with intent to kill, Richardson said. The sentencing was delayed until Jan. 3.

The charges stemmed from June 17, 2009, when a man working at Martin’s Place on Joyner Swamp Road in Aynor told Horry County police he was robbed and assaulted by a man armed with a knife.

In 2010, Kenneth Christian O’Neill, 15, of Mullins, was indicted on charges of assault and battery with intent to kill, armed robbery and kidnapping in connection with an incident. His charges are pending, according to online records.

O’Neill is being charged as an adult because of the seriousness of the crime, according to court officials.

Police said Kimberly O'Neill, 40, told the other suspects the opening procedures of the store, which she learned while delivering newspapers there on a daily basis. Kimberly O’Neill also faces charges of assault and battery with intent to kill, armed robbery and kidnapping.

When the robbery occurred police said Kimberly O’Neill dropped off Gilbert and the teen at the store while she made her deliveries, then picked them up shortly after the incident.

A segment regarding the incident was televised on “America’s Most Wanted.”
