Man accused of assaulting woman, son

A 45-year-old Myrtle Beach Man, Anthony Duke, was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of third-degree assault and criminal domestic violence after his live-in girlfriend reported that Duke hit and choked her.

The woman told Myrtle Beach Police officers that she and Duke were on their way to the Ocean Forest condo to do some painting. They began arguing in the car, and the argument continued at the condo, escalating to the point where the woman was being punched and choked.

When the couple got home, the assault continued there, and included Duke’s beating of the woman’s mentally disabled son who tried to alert authorities, according to the police report.

Duke was booked at the Myrtle Beach City Jail.

Woman says family friend raped her

A woman who told Myrtle Beach Police officers that early Sunday morning, a family friend raped her when she went to his home to borrow some money.

The woman told officers she had called the man to ask if she could borrow money until pay day on Wednesday, and he told her to come over to his home on Greens Boulevard and get it. She said when she got there, a party was going on.

She said the man gave her the money, but asked what he was getting in return. She said she told him she could pay it back Wednesday, but he pulled her down into his lap. She said she got up to leave, and the man threw her to the floor, pinned her down and sexually assaulted her.

No arrests had been made Sunday night.
